Florida Medicaid saves $200 million per year in pharmacy costs
The State of Florida selected ACS to operate its Medicaid Management Information System (FMMIS) with the goal of reducing Medicaid drug expenditures-drastically. ACS took over the FMMIS in July 1999, and by 2000, had begun delivering an unprecedented level of savings to the State's pharmacy program.
With ACS' help, the State of Florida has saved more than $200 million per year – a total of over $800 million in the first three years. For Florida and other programs around the country, ACS is containing pharmacy costs while improving service to recipients and providers.
